The curriculum at Phoenix Arch has been developed to allow teachers to be creative and make the learning journey stimulating and exciting for our pupils.
Teacher’s use plans for English, Maths, Science and Topic from Hamilton Trust which follow the National Curriculum. The plans are then adapted and differentiated further to meet the needs of pupils with a variety of different learning styles and abilities.
We have adapted the foundation curriculum to make our Topic lessons enquiry based. This approach opens new lines of thinking, encourages independent learning, enhances research skills, develops communication and enables pupils to transfer skills across subjects. Pupils take an active role in their learning motivated by areas that interest them thus deepening their knowledge and understanding.
If you would like more information about the curriculum see our rolling plan or contact Marion.
